Hello there! My name is Ruth. I’m an eighteen-year-old currently living in South Africa. Reading and writing have been my passions for as long as I can remember. I am also interested in public speaking, history, politics and musical theatre.
In 2015, I regularly maintained a blog called The Indigo Journals, a book reviewing blog that drove me to read with a more critical eye. I found the experience of managing the blog invaluable, but due to an increasingly busy school and personal schedule, I decided to end it entirely the following year. With Novel Opinions, I hope to go back to writing book reviews and publishing them online, as it was something I greatly enjoyed. From time to time, I may also dip my toes into reflecting on my life or commenting on current affairs. Ultimately, Novel Opinions is to function as a hub for me to throw my thoughts and opinions into the void.
